While painting was something that I had always planned to do, it was hurried along when I tried to start removing the bottom paint.  A pressure washer took not only the paint, but also some of the gel coat. I tend to think that much of this gelcoat removal had taken place before I got the boat but had been sanded and hidden by the paint.  The bottom paint was strange in the way that it came way above the water line and didn't follow the waterline very well. So here are a couple of before shots, although most of the dings, scratches, scrapes etc.. had been filled.

Here she is all taped up an ready to be primed.

I couldn't have been happier with the way this came out.  It wasn't sprayed but you couldn't tell unless you got right up next to it and knew what you were looking for. I put on 3 coats of blue and I think 2 coats of primer.

Here is a side shot with the rub rail reattached.

This is a shot of the tail end.  I had to replace the shift shaft in the engine before she could go anywhere, but that was a whole different project.

Finally back in the water.  Once again I was very happy with the results and got lots of compliments.  The key was no one could see the bottom. That is yet another project.

I am in the process of re-doing the front deck. My compressor and spray gun were unavailable for the first go-around.  I am planning on sanding all smooth and spraying on either gelcoat or more likely awlgrip on the entire deck.  The floor needs to be redone, not b/c of rot, but it has a low spot and water sits around the console.  I need also to look at the gas tank.  The person who put in the floor last did not put in a way to access the gas tank, its a night mare.
