The first pic is where I pulled the center stringer, and I don't know if you can tell or not but it was just sitting in a pool of water. All of the stringers had water in them and most had rot. Only one did not.
After I got the inside sheet of glass off it was painfully obvious that the rot had invaded the entire transom and it was soaking wet, just as I expected. It was still fairly hard but was starting to compress and would not hold screws.
I think that someone had previously gone in there and tried to make some repairs. It seemed like there was bondo all around the notch in the transom and it was a real pain to get out, the air chisel came in handy for this.
An air hammer and plastic wedges were the keys to delaminating the plywood from the outer skin.
