This had to be done.  I was smelling gas and seeing some in the bilge, and since there was no access hatch I had to cut some access.

It was obvious what the problem was.  When the tank was replaced, there was no hose clamp put on the vent, so gas and fumes were leaking in to the bilge.  As if that wasn't enough, the ground wire was disconnected.  She was a floating bomb.


Here is the cavity where the gas tank was.  The good news is that the tank was in good condition.  It was made in '98 and is 68 gallons.  That is good enough for me!  Saves me alot of time and money.
