The destruction continued. I knew that my stringers were wet and I had to get to them. Also, the front part of the floor had soft spots, so it had to go.

I cut off the top layer of laminate to expose what was underneath. What a mess! This was scrimmed and scored balsa that was so wet it had turned to mush.

You can see when I pushed on the remnants of the wood with my finger that water gushed out.

I cut the bottom layer of laminate and exposed the mass of foam that resided there. The deck supports were wet and the foam was soaked 3 inches down. Turns out that it was soaked from the bottom up too.

I spent a full day just digging out foam. There were 15 full garbage bags of foam when I was through. Its official, I hate the stuff.

I exposed the infamous pipes to nowhere. They go from the anchor locker and are glassed to the side of the box, no way for them to drain, and no way for me to figure out what the hell Mako was thinking. This is a pic of the black, nasty, stinking "water" that was just festering under the foam.

This is the most amazing thing of all. When I cut into one of the pipes to nowhere this is all the junk that fell out. What I am able to identify is a corroded pair of pliers, 2 sides of a scallop, 2 large nuts and the rest is anybody's guess. I don't even want to talk about the liquid that flowed out.
