The boat is a 1976 25 Mako that was purchased in Sept 2002.  It had 1987 150 Evinrudes, and had not been run in 4 years.  The boat had been in freshwater its whole life, so was in fair shape for its age.  The outside of the hull was perfect and needed nothing. Somebody had put some nonskid paint on the floor that was awful and made it look horrible.  There were no soft spots in the floor and the transom was good, so we bought it and went to work.  First thing I did was pour marvel mystery oil in each cylinder and let it sit for 2 days before I ever turned it over. Then we jury rigged a fuel tank and fired up the 150s, they ran like a top, unbelievable.  We took it to the water and ran it and no problems at all. I then sold the 150s because I had already bought some 130 Yamahas to put on it.  We then stripped everything off the boat including the fuel tank because both tanks leaked.  What a job to get the tanks out with the foam, in the pic of removing the tank look at the bow in the 4x4, one of the 4x4s actually broke and we chipped more on foam and finally got the tanks out. I then helped a friend of mine make one tank to fit the compartment, it turned out to be 175 gallons. That was first shot at aluminum work and it was not as hard as it appeared. He also made me a radar arch and handrail for the console while I was there.

I then took the boat to the paint shop and had them spray the inside from the rubrail in with Awlgrip, I had already taken all of the teak off, covered it in bondo and sanded it smooth to spray with Imron. I had him spray the console first and picked it up to take it home to get it ready for the wiring and electronics. I spent many hours on it flush mounting everything possible and had it totally pre-wired with breakers and all heat shrink connections when I brought the boat home. I then mounted the motors and installed the console and finished wiring everything up. I installed 2 Rule 2000 Bilge pumps in the rear as there very little bilge forward of the fuel tank.  I also installed a high water alarm to be safe. I installed new hydraulic steering, new trim tabs, and a new thru hull transducer while in the back of the boat.  I installed all the antennas on the radar arch as well as top gun riggers. I put new Icom vhf, Garmin 182c, Furuno 600l, a Clarion CD player with 2 amps, 4 speakers, and 2 subwoofers. Last thing I installed was a Yamaha fuel flow management gauge since I had no fuel gauge. I then went to work revamping the 128 roller trailer with solid bunks, quite a bit of work with a cutting torch to get that done. I plan to paint the whole trailer with Interlux offshore oil rig epoxy paint but am out of energy for the time being.
