The boat is a 1985 Mako 21B. I bought the boat In January 2000, I was a sophomore in dental school at the time. I cut class one morning to fly to Houston to check out this boat. I actually managed to get back to New Orleans in time for the afternoon classes. Upon deciding to but it, my wife-to-be and I drove out to Houston to bring it home to Slidell, LA. We were lucky to get it home on the trailer I purchased with it! The spare tire didn't hold air, the 4 tires on the trailer were all dry-rotted with threads showing, and we lost a fender along the way. My father-in-law wanted to pay me to take the boat back where I got it, but I don't think the trailer would have made it. Besides, I had big plans for this boat.

I don't think anything worked on the boat, and the motor was junk as well...
I immediately ran out and bought a new trailer...

On the same day I took delivery on the trailer, I lined up a visit with a guy to trade out the blown motor for a rebuilt Yamaha 225... After only some small adjustments to the new trailer, I was off to Biloxi to get the motor installed...

I liked the boat's name, but it really wasn't for me, nor was I a fan of the large painted name which was the style in the 1980's. So, I compounded the name off and suffered my first case of tennis elbow in this never ending project. I did manage to get the boat in the water for a its maiden voyage...
