Transom Project 2 |
Page 2
Here we go! I took the motor off of the boat and bolted her down to the motor storage palate. Hopefully she won't sit in the garage more than about 2 months!

Next project was to de-rig the boat. I had to remove the jackplate, aluminum trim moldings, a transducer, lifting D-rings, trim tabs, trim tab pump, transom gate and the through hull fittings.

The jackplate, trim tabs, and aluminum trim moldings were all sealed with a bead of 3M 4200. I used a polyurethane de-bonding chemical to weaken the 4200 so I could get the parts off of the boat. Some hunks of gel coat came off with the parts.

Time to start cutting the aft inner liner section out.
