Next on the agenda was to layup the transom cap. I started with a layer of 3/4 oz mat, followed by 3 layers of 1708.

After that kicked, I dry fit the 1/2 ply I'd chosen as the core. I preloaded the camber in it by bending it over a piece of landscape timber. It had been sitting for a few months while I worked on other parts of the project. It fit perfectly.

That was glassed into place with a strip of 1.5 oz mat and held in place with concrete bags while it kicked. I covered the wood and mold with plastic to keep any concrete dust off the part. Worked out real well.

While that kicked, I made my weekly run for more mixing containers. My lab is really starting to dislike recycle day in the neighborhood.

After the bags were removed.

And finally, I layed up another layer of 3/4 oz mat, followed by 3 more layers of 1708.

Here are the pics of the transom cap I promised above.
