My goal for the last
week or so was to finish the installation of the transom cap and
fabricate/install a new section of deck to replace the old splashwell. I almost
made it.
Here's a few shots of the transom cap showing the buildup process I had to go
through to match the shoebox shape of the corner boxes. First step was to squish
in a layer of milled fibers and resin from inside to fill the gap underneath.

Next, I added 3 overlapping layers of 1708 on the inside seam. No cracks on the male pattern baldness please...

Multiple layers of 1708 were added to build a little thickness and give some strength to the outside seam.

This was followed by a layer of milled fibers and resin to build a little more
thickness.

I plan to add one more layer of milled fibers, re-shape a little and cover with 3 overlapping layers of 1708 and 1 layer of 1.5 oz mat.
