Once I started cutting, I didn't want to stop so not too many pics of that stage. But to give you an idea, I cut out both side boxes and pretty much the entire splashwell area. Since my boat had a notched transom, Mako lowered the deck in the rear to accommodate a splash board. That section of deck will be raised to match the rest of the deck when all is said and done.

I set my Skil Saw to the appropriate depth and scored the transom in a few spots to make inner skin and wood removal a bit easier...

Inner skin off and core exposed. The wood was wet but surprisingly strong. Not much of the "worm wood" that I expected.

I removed the flat wood pieces in the corners as well. These were used as battery and oil tank mounts in the past. They were pretty nasty inside to say the least...
