My wife and I recently purchased this 1981 Mako 235 CC after months of searching. This hull style allows us to both fish our favorite local inshore spots for snook and tarpon, yet at the same time gives us the opportunity to go offshore for a great day of bottom fishing or trolling.

We plan on giving the boat a full make over. The hull needs some fiberglass work to repair spots in the deck, fill in old screw holes, etc. We would also like to remove the above deck fish boxes behind the console to give us a little bit more room while fishing. A new engine bracket is in the works along with enclosing the transom. Afterwards the bottom paint will be sanded away before the boat gets a new paint job inside & out. Once these projects have been completed we would like to redo the center console gauges, clean up the wiring and replace the steering wheel. A new leaning post also will be installed. The boat has a new T-Top that is in great shape which just needs to have the electronic box replaced with a new smaller fiberglass one. We already have a full set of electronics to go inside.

The following photos are of the Mako before we purchased it. The previous owner used it as a dive boat. He removed the rails and gave the deck a new white non-skid paint job. Most of the work he did was not very detail oriented. The engine on the boat was also replaced by a newer Evinrude 225 HP engine.
