Re approximating the section of the cap that was removed to access the transom core.
I glassed in the splashwell area and feathered in the sides, I have tabbed in the sides and cap area all using 18oz roven and epoxy. Were it shows I used a lot finer cloth so as to get a smoother finish. here is the splashwell area.
Here is the way I filled in the damaged areas around the opening. Just build a dam with several layers of masking tape and fill with epoxy.
