First up is the electronics box. Supports are 1x2s. This will end up being the top, bolted flush to the mounting plate on the t-top

All of the sides are now built, except for the bottom. The CD, VHF, and FF will be flush-mounted, and there will be a hatch on the bottom side for wiring access.

Construction finished. Now I have to route/round the edges and glass it

Here's the first side of the console. All of the 1x2s were first beveled on one side 5 degrees with a table saw. All of the rest of the angles are cut on a miter saw.

A mock-up to see how it's fitting in the top.

did my best to make sure it followed the lines of the top, i.e. the rake of the legs.

After everything was cut and screwed together, I removed one piece at a time and covered it with polyester resin. It was a beautiful day, so it's sitting in the sun to help the resin kick.

I left off the back (aft) panels to allow access to the inside while I glue it up.

These are far from done. To save weight, I'll be minimizing the glass. There will probably be only one layer on the outside, and the inside will only be saturated with resin. There will be of course thicker blocks glassed to the inside for controls and steering mounts, not to mention a few gussets.
