The saw is ready to go. As to Mako's design here, its not very good. The box's add a bunch of strength, but they are useless. They aren't big enough for fish boxes and they will not keep anything dry, they also get in the way to keep your balance when fighting fish. In the splashwell there is a opening to the bilge. This is where Mako put the batteries. Bad move.

The rotten transom core is exposed

Transom core removed

Where the sides meet the transom, the inside corners were very square. Fillets and strips of glass were added there before the transom core went in. The corners of the transom core were shaved to fit . The transom may be overbuilt, but for good reason. Those new Suzuki 115hp 4 strokes will put alot of weight on the transom.

Making a new core for the transom

Bonding the new core into the transom

As far as stringers are concerned, all that section you see in the back is a foam filled fiberglass molded piece. A little had to be cut away in order to get the 2in core in the transom, as the original was 2 sheets of 3/4in plywood. It took hours making all those fillets around the stringers and of course sanding them too. There are parts that no one will ever see again in order to make it stronger. There are plans to add knees on top of the 2 center stringers going up the inside of the transom still. They will be approx. 4in wide and 8 to 12in tall and long. The knees will be built out of Kledgecell and covered well with glass.
